Interlochen Arts Camp Summer Programs
One-Week Summer Trumpet Institute
The one-week trumpet institute provides students in grades 9-12 an opportunity to enhance and develop skills in all styles of trumpet performance. Students will join world-renowned artist teachers in rehearsals, classes and performances. The faculty includes:
- John Aley, Professor of Trumpet at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music
- Dr. Michael Davidson, head of the jazz and trumpet programs, University of Richmond
- Vince DiMartino, renowned soloist and educator
Six-Week Orchestra and Wind Symphony Program
The Interlochen orchestras and wind symphony offer highly motivated high schoolmusicians the opportunity to tackle challenging repertoire with peers who share a passion for making music.
Three-Week Intermediate Winds and Percussion Program
An opportunity for young instrumentalists in grades 6-9 develop as musicians and ensemble players.
Two-Week Junior Band Program
A beginning ensemble experience for students in grades 3-6. Students participate in group rehearsals and sectionals with teachers who specialize in working with young musicians.
Interlochen Arts Academy Boarding High School
Interlochen Arts Academy boarding high school is recognized as one of the finest pre-professional schools for young musicians in the world. Instrumental music students at the Academy benefit from personal attention, classes in music theory, numerous performance opportunities, and an exceptional peer group. We are currently welcoming applications for the 2013-14 school year, and scholarships and financial aid are available. We offer grades 9-12, as well as a post-graduate year.
