The Arts Academy will offer a new singer-songwriter major starting in the 2012-13 academic year.
The third annual Future of Cinema Fest was held on the Interlochen campus this fall and screened the best work of high school students around the world. In addition to screening student films, the festival brings some of the world’s leading filmmakers to the Interlochen campus where they work closely with students who also have a passion for storytelling and film.
In the fall of 2011, the Interlochen campus welcomed six students and two faculty members from the Shanghai Conservatory Middle School. Plans are underway to send a small group of Interlochen students and faculty on a similar trip to Shanghai in the near future.
David Hume Kennerly, a Pulitzer Prize winning photographer, visited Camp in August 2011 and shared his work with Crescendo.
Interlochen Center for the Arts has been named a 2011 W3 Awards winner for its video “Moments.” Interlochen was recognized as “Best in Show” in the Non-Profit Web Video category.
