Erin spent two years working as a marketing associate for Penguin Putnam in New York City before moving back to Michigan, where she entered the non-profit environmental field as a development officer at the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy. Her book Look About You is in its second printing and was named Book of the Year by the Great Lakes Booksellers Association.

Erin Anderson was a Creative Writing major at Interlochen Arts Academy, where, in her senior year, she was named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. She graduated with honors from Sarah Lawrence College with a degree in Middle Eastern History and 19th Century Literature.
