Endowment

Interlochen Center for the Arts is seeking to strengthen our ability - at the present time and into the future - to consistently and effectively fulfill our mission as a world leader in arts, culture, and education. We can accomplish this by building an endowment which supports important initiatives, including scholarships, new programs in education, facilities maintenance, technology upgrades, faculty and student recruitment, high-quality guest artist performances, and public radio programming.

Endowment funds are invested and only the earnings from these investments are expended towards scholarships and other important initiatives. Each year a portion of these earnings are reinvested, ensuring that the fund retains its buying power over time.

Since an endowment’s principal is never spent, a gift to our endowment is a permanent investment in Interlochen’s enduring mission.  The lasting legacy created by an endowment makes this form of giving particularly satisfying for donors who believe most deeply in perpetuating Interlochen’s record of developing artists, promoting the arts, and transforming lives.

Donors with a special interest in helping to ensure that the very best young artists from every corner of the world have the opportunity to attend Interlochen, regardless of their financial status, will often choose to endow student scholarships.  If offering permanent support to Interlochen’s scholarship program is appealing, we encourage you to explore endowed scholarship opportunities, including Named Endowed Scholarships and the World Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO) Endowed Chair program.

To speak with someone about establishing an endowment, or other giving opportunities, please contact us at 231.276.7623 or email advancement@interlochen.org.  We look forward to hearing from you!
