While the Singer-Songwriter program at Interlochen Arts Academy provides a comprehensive popular music songwriting curriculum, that only covers a portion of the holistic growth the program aims to foster in its young musicians. Throughout the year, each singer-songwriter is given ample stage time on campus to develop their own own personal musical style, persona and presence. However, performing in front of their fellow classmates, friends and faculty members can only partially replicate the feeling of performing to strangers night after night at different venues and stages.
That’s why, thanks in part to a wonderful donation, we will be sending our singer-songwriters on an east coast tour June 1-6. From Philadelphia to Boston and Brooklyn, Interlochen’s singer-songwriter students will have the opportunity to experience the thrills and challenges every artist faces while on the open road.
