NPR features Baltimore's OrchKids program

From NPR Weekend Edition comes this wonderful segment about the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's OrchKids program. OrchKids acts as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's year-round music program for pre-K through high school aged students.

Earlier this year, over 100 students from OrchKids and the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestra took the stage alongside BSO orchestra members for a rendition of Ravel's Boléro and NPR was there.

Included in that performance and in the NPR segment are two Interlochen Arts Campers: Asia Palmer and Keith Fleming. NPR also spoke with OrchKids Artistic Director Dan Trahey (All-State 1992, 1995, tuba) about their work throughout the greater Baltimore area. (Via Crescendo Magazine, a recent interview with Dan Tracey about OrchKids.)

You can watch the OrchKids performance of Boléro above and listen to the full report below. Congratulations to Asia, Keith and Dan and thank you to NPR for covering this extremely deserving organization.
