Interlochen Students Impress on Portfolio Review Day

Crescendo issue: November 2013
They came from near and far to see what the portfolios of Interlochen students held, and they were severely impressed.

Interlochen Arts Academy has long been a well respected institute of higher learning. The focus on the arts, combined with one of the finest high school educations available, has routinely produced some of the finest students and most outstanding success stories you'll find anywhere. So, it's no surprise that offers of scholarships were flying this October.

"I thought the Portfolio Review Day went very well," says Melinda Zacher Ronayne. "Students were thrilled and were recommended for scholarships left and right. The reps were extremely impressed with the quality of our students and with how smoothly the event ran."

The portfolio review was held in the Visual Arts building and featured 22 colleges from across the nation and world. Colleges that attended included Art Academy of Cincinnati, California College of Arts, Cleveland Institute of Art, Corcoran College of Art and Design, Cornish College of Arts, Kansas City Art Institute, Kendall College of Art and Design, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, OCAD University, Oregon College of Art and Craft, Otis College of Art and Design, Paris College of Art, Parsons the New School for Design, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Pratt Institute, Pratt MWP, Ringling College of Art and Design, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Stamps School of Art and Design at University of Michigan, and the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
