Encore Michigan recently published a review of the Interlochen Shakespeare Festival’s production of King Lear.

The magazine, which is a web-based publication with a focus on Michigan theatre, praised the production as “fascinating, complex, and magnificently rendered.” In particular, the magazine was impressed with Interlochen Theatre Instructor David Montee’s portrayal of the title character, calling him a “force of nature.” The full review can be found on the magazine’s web site.

Founded in 2008, the Interlochen Shakespeare Festival seeks to bring the works of Shakespeare to northern Michigan audiences in innovative ways by utilizing the resources of Interlochen. This year, the Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary with two performances: Shakespeare’s King Lear and Lloyd Suh’s American Hwangap.
