Detroit radio station produces live broadcast at Interlochen

  • Detroit radio station WJR produced a live broadcast from Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Popular Detroit radio station WJR visited Interlochen Center for the Arts on Aug. 3 and presented a live broadcast of the Paul W. Smith Show from Interlochen Public Radio.

During the broadcast, Smith chatted with three members of the Interlochen community. Smith’s first guest was Director of Theatre Bill Church, who chatted with Smith about Interlochen’s theatre program and his personal connections to Interlochen. During the program’s second hour, Interlochen Archivist Leo Gillis joined Smith on air. Gillis and Smith talked about several aspects of Interlochen’s history, including its extensive audio archive and its connection to the University of Michigan. President Trey Devey joined Smith for the final hour of the broadcast.

The broadcast was presented in collaboration with Evola Music and Kawai Musical Instruments.

Interlochen Center for the Arts will partner with Evola Music and Kawai Musical Instruments at the conclusion of Interlochen Arts Camp 2017 for our annual piano sale.
