Alumnus Doug Stanton featured on Interlochen Public Radio

Traverse City author and Interlochen Arts Academy alumnus Doug Stanton (IAA 75-76, 77-79, IAA Fac 90-94) was recently interviewed by Interlochen Public Radio’s Dan Wanschura.

Stanton, whose book “Horse Soldiers” was adapted into the upcoming movie “12 Strong,” spoke to Wanschura in advance of the movie’s Jan. 19 premiere. The film, which stars Chris Hemsworth and was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, tells the tale of a group of U.S. Special Forces who ally with an Afghan warlord to fight the Taliban in the wake of 9/11.

Stanton is also the founder of the Traverse City-based National Writers Series.
