Wendy Masterson, a nationally recognized master teacher, choreographer and arts administrator, has served on the faculty of Interlochen Arts Academy since 1991 and as Interim Director in 2008/09. She is a licensed Somatic Movement Educator from the School for Body Mind Centering®, a GYROTONIC® trainer, and holds an MFA and BFA in Dance. In 2010 she was invited to present a movement session exploring the connection of sight, spinal mobility, and expressiveness at the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science conference in Washington, D.C. Over the years she has initiated several cross-disciplinary courses including dance, creative writing, visual arts, music, and academics. In 2009 she created the Artist as Revolutionary campus-wide theme and during 2002/03, Ms. Masterson was the coordinator for the All Pointes North Regional Dance America Mid-States Festival hosted by Interlochen. In addition to the Academy, she is the Education Director for Body-Mind Centering®/North Carolina; adjudicator and advisor for the American Ballet Competition and has served as administrator at the Vail International Dance Festival, DanceAspen, Ballet Iowa, and American Festival Ballet.
