Pastel artist, Tom Tomasek, has had a lifelong love of drawing and painting and has exhibited his work professionally for more than twenty years. Since then, Mr. Tomasek has garnered 25 juried awards for his scenes depicting Michigan landscapes and nature. His award-winning compositions are known for highlighting the interactions between land, sky, water and light. His work has been exhibited widely throughout Michigan, appearing in juried shows at the Dennos Museum in Traverse City, the Muskegon Museum of Art in Muskegon, the Saginaw Art Museum in Saginaw, and the Governor’s Residence in Lansing. Recently, Mr. Tomasek’s work was selected for publication in Pastel Journal Magazine and in the book, The Art of the Sleeping Bear Dunes. In addition, Mr. Tomasek’s work can be found in public buildings as well as numerous corporate and private collections.
