String Instrument Exploration, Interlochen Summer Arts Camp
Initial Teacher Certification in New York State; M.M., Cello Performance, University of Delaware (In Progress); B.M., Music Education--String Concentration, State University of New York at Fredonia
Ms. Tina Masi is both a teacher and performer. She has taught children of varying ages in both private and public school classrooms. Rather than merely teaching instrumental technique, Ms. Masi is passionate about instilling an appreciation for the commitment involved in music making. This allows students to enjoy music and the act of music making. They will be building a social community and learning to solve musical problems that translate into real-world problem solving. Students should make music for the sake of music while growing as individuals. Ms. Masi is currently studying Cello Performance at the University of Delaware. She is a member of the UD Symphony Orchestra and the UD Chamber Orchestra. In the future, Ms. Masi hopes to teach in public school and to begin an influential community music program focused on keeping music an integral part of society.
