Tina Masi is both a cellist and a teacher from Fishkill, NY. She enjoys playing and teaching music of all genres. She has been a member of numerous chamber groups and has performed with college orchestras during her student years. She has taught in elementary, middle, high school, and college-level classrooms. This past year Ms. Masi was the director of the University of Delaware Cello Choir and of University Strings.
Rather than only teaching instrumental technique, Ms. Masi is passionate about instilling an appreciation for the process involved in learning music. This allows students to enjoy music and the act of music making. They will be building a social community and learning to solve musical problems that translate into real-world problem-solving skills.
In the future, Ms. Masi hopes to begin a community music program that is focused on keeping music an integral part of society.
