About Steve

Steve Larson is coordinator of music for dance at Interlochen Arts Academy. He has a long history of working with dancers. Past associations include Minnesota Dance Theater, Milwaukee Ballet (where he served as company pianist), Milwaukee Ballet School, Ballet Hispánico, the Feld Ballet, and many others. He has composed, arranged, and performed music for many dance productions at Interlochen and elsewhere. His recordings for ballet class, available through Brio Recordings, are used throughout the world and include original compositions as well as a variety of classical repertoire.

Larson is also active as a recitalist and chamber musician and enjoys accompanying silent movies at venues such as the Music House Museum in Acme, Michigan. He has been heard on radio broadcasts such as Live from Studio A and A Prairie Home Companion.
