Shelly J. Wood

Mental Health Counselor and Social Worker, Interlochen Center for the Arts

Shelly received her Bachelors degree at Western Michigan University with a dual major in Psychology and Criminal Justice, with an emphasis in Law Enforcement. She went on and earned her Masters in Social Work from Michigan State University.

Shelly was born and raised in Charlevoix, Mich., and has lived in the Traverse City area for the past 21 years. Shelly has spent the past 27 years doing medical social work in a hospital setting. She was also part of a very successful private practice in the Traverse City area for the past 8 years providing individual, family and couples therapy for adolescents, families and adults.

Shelly is committed to offering guidance and support for the students with their life challenges while at ICA and to assist them in reaching their fullest potential.
