Julie Houser is the Director of Campus Safety and Transportation for Interlochen Center for the Arts. Prior to joining the Interlochen community in spring 2011, Julie was employed by Colorado College as the Associate Director of Campus Safety and prior to this position, she spent 15 years in law enforcement in Davenport, Iowa.
Her certifications include: Certified and retired Peace Officer (Iowa), Certified Polygraph Examiner, Certified Peace Officer Bicyclist, and Certified Reid Interview Techniques. Active Member of: IACLEA (International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators).
A native to the Midwest and the lovely state of Iowa, Julie graduated from Cornell College with a B.S.S. in psychology and sociology, working her initial years thereafter in counseling and addictions.
Julie's passions include people, and most anything outdoor (biking, hiking, fishing, and riding her motorcycle). "I am honored to be a member of the Interlochen community and look forward to meeting, learning from and working with everyone here," she said. "Carpe diem!"
