Carol Niemi

Academy Librarian

Carol joined the ICA Academic library staff in October 2010. She has been a high school librarian for 16 years at St. Francis High School in Traverse City. She has had a diverse education and a variety of careers including a BS in Chemistry from Saginaw Valley State University, an MA in Nutrition Education from Central Michigan University and more recently an MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Carol has worked in the banking industry, done paralegal work and taught University nutrition classes in addition to her library work. For fun, she loves biking, cross-country skiing and traveling to places far and near. She greatly enjoys learning about and interacting with other cultures. For example, one summer vacation included library work at the Kigali Institute of Education in Rwanda.
