About Amy

Amy Long has studied a range of media in the visual art field. Her specialization lies in Fiber Art but she is also knowledgeable and accomplished in Drawing, Photography, and Sculpture. Enjoying many materials and experiences has allowed Long to teach a variety of art courses. She has taught Two & Three-Dimensional Design, Drawing One & Two, and Fiber Art. In addition to being a devoted teacher, Long creates and exhibits her own artwork. Being a professional artist allows her to bring real art world experiences and knowledge to the classroom. The research she involves herself in for her personal art and her teaching, inform one another and create a strong cycle of information. Long has exhibited nationally in solo, group, and biennial exhibitions. She has received numerous awards including titles of Best of Show and an Arizona State University Graduate and Professional Student Association Research Grant. She has been featured in such periodicals as Craft and Fiber Arts magazines. Utilizing technology, Long has a growing web presence through her website and enthusiastic blogs written about her artwork.
