Adam Atkinson is a doctoral student in Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Utah, where he taught in the Gender Studies Program and serves as Assistant Editor of Quarterly West. He also holds degrees in Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University and Louisiana State University, where he taught in the English Department and the Women's and Gender Studies Program. His poems have appeared in Black Warrior Review, Verse Daily, The Volta, and elsewhere, and he has been awarded grants or fellowships by the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, the U.S. State Department, and the Ventspils International Writers' House in Latvia. Originally from the Pittsburgh area, Adam previously taught creative writing to teenagers with Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, and the poetry collective Line Assembly.
