The Writers Retreat at Interlochen College of Creative Arts has quickly become a favorite destination for writers throughout the Midwest. This year the program will add new faculty including a renowned children's author and poet. 

In the summer of 2013, filmmaker David Marek will join the Motion Picture Arts faculty to lead the digital filmmaking program.

As the 2012-13 Academy year draws to a conclusion, students, faculty and staff are gearing up for the year's finale: Festival Week.

Ten Academy students earned national recognition through the 2013 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.

For Marlis Mann, great music has been a constant companion throughout her life. She became an IPR supporter because it provides the classical music soundtrack that fills her home every day. 

Interlochen Arts Academy will present "Miss Saigon" for the 2013 spring musical, featuring Marina Kondo in the role of Kim. 

On June 1 Melinda Ronayne, the director of the visual arts department at Interlochen, will be in New York City to conduct portfolio reviews for students interested in applying to Interlochen's summer arts programs or the fine arts boarding high school.

In the summer of 2013, Interlochen Arts Camp will launch a new six-week musical theatre program for junior performers. 

In April 2013, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra visited the Interlochen campus to conclude a months-long partnership with students in several arts disciplines at Interlochen Arts Academy.

The performers are being lined up, repertoire is being chosen and the announcement for the 2013 Summer Arts Festival is planned for April 12!

Interlochen is taking musical performances and audition opportunities on the road in April 2013, with special events for alumni and prospective students in Chicago and New York.

Dr. Jerry Blackstone, director of choirs and chair of the conducting department at the University of Michigan School of Music, will lead Adult Choral Camp again this year.

When Gaye Gronlund and Bruce Corner sent their son to Interlochen Arts Camp in 1997, they thought it would be a nice summer experience to supplement the instruction he was receiving at home. But it became much more than they expected.
