As a 5-year-old, Angelique saw a live performance of a cello ensemble in Haiti—and she was hooked. She started her musical career soon after on a toy cello her parents made out of cardboard. In the summer of 2012, she played in the World Youth Symphony Orchestra, a collection of musicians from widely different backgrounds who share Angelique's passion for music. Angelique was a 2012 scholarship recipient.
You might think that actors at Interlochen spend all their time in performance or rehearsal, but they also spend hours each day in the classroom. In addition to working on their final performance, Interlochen's aspiring actors learn skills and techniques from seasoned professionals who want to prepare the students for any future role.

The Interlochen College of Creative Arts 2015 Adult Choir Camp has come to a close, with lovers of song, community and choir coming together under the leadership of choral director (and Grammy winner) Jerry Blackstone to make beautiful music.

The Tony and Grammy Award-winning performer Heather Headley made a surprise visit to theatre students during summer 2010. She worked with all theatre students, but especially the cast of Aida, a title role that she originated on Broadway.

The music program at Interlochen Arts Academy combines pre-professional training and college-preparatory academics. We offer instrumental music, vocal music, music composition, and singer-songwriter programs for grades 9-12, as well as a post-graduate year.
