Each summer, some of Interlochen's most accomplished young musicians compete for a chance to perform as a soloist with one of Interlochen's large ensembles. This is part one of a two part series, featuring the 2011 concerto competition.
Jorja Fleezanis, Interlochen alumna, accomplished violinist and experienced concertmaster, has turned her passion towards teaching. Here she works with advanced high school violin students during Summer Arts Camp 2011.
The 2011 Interlochen Summer Arts Festival kicked off with a live broadcast of "A Prairie Home Companion," with Garrison Keillor. The sold-out performance featured a number of guest artists, including Arts Academy students Yuri Popowycz, violin and Charles Overton, harp.
At the end of the fall semester, Interlochen welcomed renowned photographers and husband and wife duo Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison to campus. They met with students, viewed student work, provided feedback and presented their own work in front of a student assembly.

The fourth annual Future of Cinema Fest was held on the Interlochen campus this fall and screened the best work of high school students around the world. In addition to screening student films, the festival brings some of the world’s leading filmmakers to the Interlochen campus where they work closely with students who also have a passion for storytelling and film.
