Job Title: Production Lead Stage Technician

Reports to: Director, Interlochen Presents

Position Purpose: The position will be involved with leading the production crew in the areas of staging and lighting set-up.

Essential Job Functions: This position will manage the staging and lighting process for student events as well as the Summer Arts Festival shows in Kresge Auditorium and Corson Auditorium. Past guest artists include Steve Miller Band, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, Styx, KT Tunstall, Joshua Bell, Ra Ra Riot, Parsons Dance, Paula Poundstone, etc.  This position will work in a variety of venues that include a 3,929 seat amphitheater, 952 seat theater, and a 3,500 seat bandshell, and be responsible for the care and upkeep of production equipment in these venues.

Other Job Duties: Audio as needed.

Equipment Used: Theatrical lighting and staging equipment, computer, phones, fax machines, golf carts, large rental trucks

Qualifications: Two years experience in entertainment production. Graduate and upper class college students preferred.  Position requires someone who is self-motivated and able to work well in a collaborative environment. They should have a working knowledge of and experience in lighting, audio, staging systems, rigging and safe working practices. Previous experience with touring productions, musical ensembles, theatre and dance is helpful.

Compensation: Roughly $238/week from mid-May through mid-August plus room and board )salary varies based upon employment dates)
