Job Title: Production Lead Audio Technician
Reports to: Director, Interlochen Presents
Position Purpose: Set-up and operation of Interlochen’s audio systems which can include Front-of-House and monitor systems.
Essential Job Functions: The individuals in this position will assist in the management of Interlochen’s audio systems. They will work in leadership roles for the production crew and assist in the care and upkeep of audio and PA equipment. This position will work on Interlochen student productions that include classical, jazz, theatre, and dance as well as work closely with Summer Arts Festival guest artists including classical, jazz, dance, comedy, country and pop entertainers. Past guest artists include Steve Miller Band, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, Styx, KT Tunstall, Joshua Bell, Ra Ra Riot, Parsons Dance, Paula Poundstone, etc.
Other Job Duties: Lighting and staging as needed.
Equipment Used: Theatrical audio equipment, computer, phones, fax machines, golf carts, large rental trucks
Qualifications: Two years experience in basic as well as advanced PA system design and use. Graduate and upper class college students preferred. Position requires someone who is self-motivated and able to work well in a collaborative environment. Prior experience working in live audio required. Experience with Midas and Crest consoles as well as Electro Voice speakers a plus.
Compensation: Roughly $238/week from mid-May through mid-August plus room and board (salary varies based upon dates)
