Job Title: Photography Internship
Reports to: National Marketing and Communications Manager
Position Purpose: Photographers capture photos for use by the marketing department in print publications and online. They work closely with the marketing department to become familiar with the department's needs and then work independently to capture photos.
Essential Job Functions: Responsibilities include location and studio photo shoots, scheduling, logistics, managing equipment and reviewing/cataloging digital images. The 40 hour weekly schedule varies, with some evening and weekend assignments.

Equipment Used: Photo interns must bring their own digital SLR camera and should be able to operate it with skill, especially in challenging lighting situations. A tripod is also strongly recommended. Interns may bring additional equipment (extra lenses, laptops, photo editing software, hard drives, etc.) but these are not required. Data storage and computer stations (Mac or PC) can be provided by Interlochen.
Qualifications: The intern should be able to skillfully operate a digital SLR and be familiar with the fundamentals of digital photography (photo formats, resolution, uploading files.) Strong computer, organizational and interpersonal skills are also essential. Interns will be expected to walk or ride a bicycle for several hours each day. Photo interns must be self-starters who can maintain a positive attitude in all types of working conditions. Previous professional experience is not required but applicants will be asked to present a portfolio that demonstrates their skills. Required for application: 10-20 photo samples (printed, on a CD or through a web link) and resume.
Compensation: $800 including room and board
