Job Title: Marketing and Communications Internship
Reports to: National Marketing and Communications Manager
Position Purpose: The marketing and communications intern works closely with the marketing staff to effectively communicate with internal and external audiences.
Essential Job Functions: Marketing and communications interns will perform a variety of functions including: writing press releases, responding to media inquiries, conducting media research, writing content for the web or promotional materials, proofreading, preparing internal news bulletins, assisting with the market research efforts and other related duties.
Other Job Duties: Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used: The communications intern will primarily use a PC. Interns may have opportunities to use digital cameras or video cameras.
Qualifications: To be effective, the intern must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Applicants should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong computer and organizational skills. Required for application: Three non-academic writing samples (i.e. press releases, feature-style journalism, promotional materials.) and resume.
Compensation: $1050 including room and board
