Job Title: Ensemble Manager
Reports to: Associate Director of Music
Position Purpose: Ensemble managers are the conduit between campers, faculty and numerous staff. It is the responsibility of the ensemble manager to facilitate communication between campers, faculty and conductors while making sure each rehearsal and concert runs smoothly. Ensemble managers work with High School, Intermediate and Junior Ensembles.
Essential Job Functions: Duties include oversight of attendance and personnel issues within each assigned ensemble, tracking rehearsal location, time and set-up, and determining and fulfilling needs for special events and activities. Ensemble Managers work closely with library staff, stage managers, program office, and instrument services personnel.
Other Job Duties: Communicating with guest artists and conductors during the residency to address any concerns and schedule updates; assist with coordinating sectionals. Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Music.
Equipment Used: Bicycle (recommended) and Laptop (recommended)
Qualifications: Applicants must be enrolled in a music degree program at the collegiate level or hold a degree(s) in music. Applicants must also have experience in managing high school or college ensembles (band/orchestra/choir/jazz). Suggested skills include: the ability to speak comfortably in front of large groups, the ability to problem-solve, and the ability to be a team player.
Compensation: $1000 including room and board
