Job Title: Ensemble Library Intern
Reports to: Head of Music Library
Position Purpose: Ensemble Library Interns utilize their skills to serve the music needs of campers, faculty, staff, and alumni participating in large performing ensembles (band, choir, jazz, and orchestra) during Interlochen’s six-week arts camp.
Essential Job Functions: Duties include preparing and distributing music for assigned large performing groups; marking bowings, numbering measures, inserting cuts, dynamics, etc. as indicated by the conductor and faculty; photocopying; filing music; and attending all rehearsals/concerts. Program includes a two-day learning intensive covering the basics of performing ensemble librarianship. Work closely with the Ensemble Managers. Some evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications: Knowledge of classical music and jazz, ability to read music, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are fundamental. A moderate level of computer literacy is essential; experience with Mac OS and applications is preferred. Familiarity with Finale and/or Sibelius is a plus. Candidates must be self-motivated as well as possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and the capacity to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment are essential. Must be able to lift and transport boxes on wheeled carts across campus. Candidates holding or working towards a MLS degree are encouraged to apply.
Compensation: $1,225 includes room and board
