Job Title: Campus Security and Safety Officer

Reports to: Director of Security, Transportation and Campus Safety

Position Purpose: Officers provide 24/7 patrol of all campus facilities, property and special events, maintaining a safe environment for students, faculty and staff.

Essential Job Functions: Vigilance, detection, response and accurate reporting of campus safety and security concerns are the most essential functions of the security officer. Officers must be comfortable working with off campus emergency personnel, law enforcement, EMS and fire.

Other Job Duties: Other duties include, but are not limited to; enforcement of campus parking and traffic policies, responding to campus emergencies, IAF concert parking and traffic, and working closely with other departments to maintain safe operations on campus.

Equipment Used: Various security and safety equipment to include; computer, phone, flashlights, portable radios, first aid equipment, automated external defibrillator (AED), key systems and patrol vehicles. No weapons are carried or permitted on campus.

Qualifications: Officers must be self motivated, with positive public relation skills and the ability to accept responsibility and work without supervision. Officers must maintain a courteous and professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Criminal and motor vehicle background checks, as well as current First Aid, AED and CPR certifications and valid driver’s license are also required.

Compensation: $8.00 p/h (living off-campus), $900 (living on campus including room and board)
