Job Title: Barista at Coffee Tent
Reports to: Supervisor of Melody Café
Position Purpose: This position requires the applicants to be able to make coffee drinks (espresso-based) and fruit smoothies, in a fast-paced environment. At the same time you must keep a customer friendly personality.
Essential Job Functions: Daily participation in food preparation and other jobs as assigned. Ensure good communication with manager, supervisors and co-workers. Must maintain high quality standards, safety and sanitation in all areas. Adherence to all ICA employment guidelines and performance of all daily duties as assigned.
Other Job Duties: Keep the inside (counters, rugs, equipment, sink and dishes) and the surrounding campus grounds clean and sanitary.
Equipment Used: Espresso machine, smoothie blenders, cash register.
Qualifications: Applicant must be at least 14 years of age at time of application. Applicant must understand basic safety and sanitation regulations, be able to understand and exert well paced mobility for up to five hours in length and have the ability to bend and lift up to 30 pounds frequently. In addition, the applicant must have hand and finger dexterity to handle serving equipment, be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees and be able to follow written instructions.
Compensation: $1170 including room and board. (If applying and you are under the age of 18, you must reside off-campus, complete a work permit with hours of deviation and then the compensation is at minimum wage).
