Job Title: Advancement Internship
Reports to: Vice President, Advancement
Position Purpose: To assist Advancement staff in achieving goals established for fundraising and alumni efforts during the busy summer months. To help coordinate and host Advancement events, as well as oversee the collection of thank you letters and photographs from scholarship recipients.
Essential Job Functions: Job duties consist of stewarding 300+ scholarships given to students attending the Interlochen Arts Camp by taking photographs of and coordinating thank you letters from recipients, and by facilitating introductions between scholarship recipients and their donors who visit campus during the summer months. Assist the Advancement staff with event planning by printing/mailing invitations, providing name tags, keeping track of RSVP’s, returning confirmation calls to guests, assisting with campus tours, and offering a warm welcome at any and all at Advancement events.
Other Job Duties: Filing, data entry, answering the phone, relaying messages, and scheduling may be required in addition to special projects assigned by the Advancement Staff. The intern(s) will work approximately 40 hours a week, though flexible hours are required given evening and weekend Advancement activities.
Equipment Used:Computer, digital camera, golf cart
Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age or have graduated high school. Knowledge of Word, Excel, and/or Access helpful. Previous experience with digital photography a bonus. Must be personable, organized and extremely reliable. Previous experience at Interlochen desirable but not required.
Compensation: $800 salary including room and board
