International Student Life

Interlochen Arts Academy encourages international students to become a part of the Interlochen community. We are well-acquainted with the difficulties of studying abroad and are equipped to help make it an enriching experience for all students.

The Academy will make every effort to place international students with English-speaking roommates in order to help with their English and cultural adjustment.

Each international student is required to have a Stateside Sponsor while he or she is a student at the Academy. The sponsor will serve as a liaison between the Academy and parents, especially if there is a language barrier. The sponsor will serve as a host during Academy holidays or emergencies unless the student chooses to return to the native country.
