Pushing the Story: A Fiction Writing Weekend

Been working on your novel, your short stories? Eager to push something deeper, further, toward completion? Join us for an intensive two-day workshop experience for fiction writers led by award-winning writer Patricia Ann McNair.

Award-winning author Patricia Ann McNair (The Temple of Air) will lead participants through generative writing activities and revision strategies designed to help recognize and move toward rendering finished work. Participants will be provided study packets with solid literary models and craft essays, information on submitting work, markets, cover letters, as well as a copy of The Writer’s e-Handbook by Jotham Burrello, publisher, Elephant Rock Books, which offers a variety of interviews and resources valuable to emerging and seasoned writers alike. Participants may also participate in a one-on-one manuscript consultation with the instructor on Friday, October 31, Saturday, November 1 or Sunday, November 2 between 5:30 - 7 p.m. Upon registration, interested participants will be able to rank up to three time preferences and will be contacted ahead of time to confirm their session meeting time. Manuscript details: Maximum of twenty, double-spaced pages, 12 pt font.
