The Frederick Fennell Scholars Program offers talented high school musicians the opportunity to earn a scholarship toward intensive study at Interlochen Arts Camp. Awards are based on the strength of the student's experience and audition.
Musicians who excel in woodwinds, brass or percussion are eligible to earn up to a full scholarship to America's premier band program at Interlochen Arts Camp. The Fennell Scholarship is named after Interlochen alumnus Frederick Fennell, who was one of the world's most distinguished wind conductors and a life-long friend of Interlochen.
The Fennell Scholarship is available to:
- Applicants currently eligible for the high school division
- Applicants auditioning on brass, woodwinds or percussion for the six-week orchestral and wind symphony summer program
- The Fennell Scholarship is limited to Campers who perform in the World Youth Wind Symphony
How to Apply
All applicants who meet the eligibility requirements listed above are automatically considered for the Fennell Scholarship. There is no separate application/audition process for the scholarship. Simply follow the audition instructions for the ensemble program. Please note that applicants must either submit a video audition online or attend a live, regional audition by February 1, 2015.
Scholarship recipients will be notified by April 1, 2015. All other candidates will not be notified.
Camp applicants not selected to receive a Fennell Scholarship may still be considered for financial aid by completing the financial aid information section of the application for admission.
