Spend an Afternoon with Interlochen In Grand Rapids and Midland

You are invited to spend an afternoon with Interlochen Center for the Arts. On April 28, 2013, the Arts Academy Orchestra will hold a free concert in Midland. Also on that same day, the Arts Academy Choir and Dance Company will hold a free performance in Grand Rapids.

The Orchestra concert will be held at the Bullock Creek High School Auditorium in Midland at 3 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. dessert reception following for all concert attendees. Admission is free, but we ask that you make a reservation by visiting www.interlochen.org/bullock.

The repertoire for the Orchestra concert will include: “Schelomo, Rhapsody for Cello and Orchestra” by Ernest Bloch; Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5;” and “A Survivor from Warsaw” by Arnold Schoenberg.

The Choir and Dance performance will be held at the Peter Martin Wege Theatre in Grand Rapids at 3 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. dessert reception following for all attendees. Admission is free, but we ask that you make a reservation by visiting www.interlochen.org/wege.

The program for the Choir and Dance performance will include: “Shower (Op. 71, No. 1)” by Edward Elgar; “Cantique de jean Racine (Op. 11)” by Gabriel Faure; “At the River” by Aaron Copland; “Cloudburst” by Eric Whitacre; “Giselle” (pas de deux); and more.
