To the Interlochen community,
Across the institution, Interlochen Center for the Arts is taking prudent actions during the current economic climate. Interlochen is weathering the economic situation better than most arts organizations – Camp enrollments for this summer are looking very good and should be at last year’s levels; ticket sales for guest artist performances are running ahead of expectations; financial support for Interlochen Public Radio is on track; and, while it is too early to celebrate, Academy enrollment is running 10 percent ahead of last year, and we are cautiously optimistic about meeting our goals.
While we are pleased with these positive indications, as a nonprofit organization Interlochen must use its resources as efficiently as possible, making sure each dollar is spent where it counts most. Our recently launched website, the result of 18 months of planning, offers us many economies and yet makes available the exciting things happening here at Interlochen, simply by clicking. With this new version of Crescendo, you will be part of the campus, active participants rather than distant readers. I can’t think of anything more exciting. Even more importantly, our new site gives you the tools to share what you find with your friends, business associates, neighbors, family, anyone you think would enjoy learning more about Interlochen.
I hope you will help us share the remarkable stories from the artistic community we know as Interlochen. Your help in spreading the word about Interlochen is key to our future success.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey S. Kimpton
President
