NANNETTE (HORTON) TOOMAN (AS 53-55, UW 58) of Allegan, Michigan passed away in December 2009. While at Interlochen, she was a student of Nelita True. Nannette graduated from the University of Michigan School of Music in 1960 and performed on piano and taught for more than 50 years. She performed in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Allegan areas as a soloist, accompanist and church organist. She was a member and past president of the Allegan Music Club, member of the Kalamazoo Music Teachers Association and was a life member of the Michigan Music Teachers Association where she was recognized as a Teacher of the Year.
