Barbara Lieurance (IAC St 00) performed at the 70th Birthday Tribute to John Heiss, which was presented by the Modern American Music Series, Longy School of Music, Cambridge, Massachusetts. in December 2009.
Meredith Richard (IAC 01-04) graduated from the three-year acting course in July 2009 at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in London. She is currently working with the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington D.C., understudying several roles in “The Alchemist,” “Richard II,” and “Henry V.”
Alice Klock (IAA 03-07) dances professionally with the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago's Second Company, Hubbard Street 2.
Melanie Ebanks (IAC 04-09) plays saxophone and was a 2009 Young Musician of the Year finalist in the Cayman Islands National Children's Festival of the Arts. As a result, she will perform in the Cayman Arts Festival Rising Stars concert and with the Youth Choir in the Hallelujah Chorus. Melanie has been cast in her high school production as the Pied Piper in "Rats! The Musical," which will be held in March 2010.
Alan Huckleberry (AS Fac 05) was awarded the University of Iowa's 2010 Dean Scholar Award.
(Jalusha) Usha Kapoor (IAC 06-07) was a semifinalist in the 2009 International Schmidbauer Competition at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Usha has been a representative for Arizona for three years to the Music Teachers National Association.
Jeffrey Howard (IAC Fac 06-07) is a violin faculty member at Towson University in Towson, Maryland and performs regularly as part of the Baltimore Trio and with his wife Anne Soukiassian.
Max Schwimmer (IAC 06-07, IAC St 08) is a student at Arizona State University's Herberger Institute School of Music, Barrett Honors College and is planning to graduate in spring 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in saxophone performance.
Anna Soukiassian (IAC Fac 06-07) is the founder and co-coordinator of the Komitas Music School in Boston, Massachusetts. She is an instructor in the Preparatory Division if the Peabody Conservatory and the McDonough School in Owings Mills, Maryland.
Olivia Harris (IAC 06) was a youngARTS finalist in musical theatre and merit award winner jazz vocalist in 2009. In February 2009, she performed with the Grammy Jazz Vocal Ensemble at the Grammy pre and post events in Los Angeles. Announced in the spring of 2009, she was the winner of Downbeat Magazine's 32nd annual student music award in the Jazz Vocal Soloist - North America Performing Arts High Schools category. Olivia is a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University studying musical theatre.
Andrew Gonzalez (IAC 07) and Nicholas Villalobos (IAC 04) were named semi-finalists at the 2010 Sphinx Competition. Andrew was also a semi-finalist in 2009.
Christian Smith (IAC 08) has been selected as the student symphonic fellow in the Andrew and Amy Vaughan Fellowship Program through the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Christian will perform a solo piano piece in the symphony's April 2010 concerts in Charleston and in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Interlochen Arts Camp alumni in the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra include Carl Larson (IAC 93-95, IAC St 98), Juliana Dills (IAC 85), and Alexander Cohen (IAC 98). In January, Christian won an opportunity to perform with the Marshall University Symphony Orchestra, in Huntington, West Virginia in March 2010.
Emily Mannheimer (IAC 08) was interviewed and featured in the January-February issue of the magazine Jack and Jill. The issue included photos of Jeremy Skiba (IAC 09,) Laney Johnson (IAC 09,) and Ji Hyo Lee (IAC 09) as well as cast members from the 2009 Arts Camp production of "Little Shop of Horrors."
Michael Testori (IAC 08) will perform with the Rising Stars ensemble in the 2010 Cayman Arts Festival in February 2010. Michael was a Butterfield Young Musician of the Year in 2008.
