Interlochen, Mich. – Four Arts Academy students have been named Finalists in the National Merit program. Less than one percent of high school seniors receive this distinction, which enters them into consideration for National Merit Scholarships. Winners of scholarships will be announced starting in April.
To become a National Merit Finalist, students must have an outstanding academic record, be endorsed and recommended by the high school principal and earn superior PSAT and SAT scores. The four finalists are:
- Andrea Chim, Dance
- Vivian Ferrillo, Oboe
- Edward Schumacher, Cello
- Xinhe Shen, Creative Writing
