Mountain Dulcimer Immersive Workshop

The mountain dulcimer is a simple 3 or 4-stringed instrument with a unique fretboard that is easy for the novice to begin playing songs with just one lesson, and fun for all levels to explore its many possibilities. Meet new people, learn a new instrument, or reconnect with your dulcimer in this one-day workshop.

Early Music Workshop

Adult Arts Program

The 2015 Early Music Workshop will draw on the immense repertory of music for the Christmas season from the middle ages and Renaissance. Italian laude, Spanish villancicos, and German chorales make up the "tip of the iceberg" of this body of music. Period instruments including recorders, other early winds, viols, lutes, harpsichord and percussion are highlighted. Vocalists are also welcome.

Vocal Techniques Workshop

This course is geared towards the adult choir singer with little or no prior vocal training. Topics covered include proper inspiration (both quick and slow), breath management, the importance of vowels, proper use of the articulators, consonants, eliminating inappropriate tension, and managing the vocal registers.

The Chapman Stick Workshop will include instruction for players of the Chapman Stick®, the two-handed tapping electric instrument popularized in the 1970s and 1980s by Tony Levin, who performed alongside artists including Peter Gabriel and King Crimson.

Adult Chamber Music Camp

Chamber musicians from around the world immerse themselves in instruction and performances with a faculty of leading string, keyboard and woodwind musicians. A variety of class options within the Camp provide participants with an enriching and flexible experience, including daily reading pairings or intensive study. Pedagogy workshops, masterclasses, participant performances, large coached ensembles, and the Chamber Concert Series, featuring daily performances with the Enso String Quartet and notable faculty members, round out this remarkable Camp.
