The Interlochen Theatre Workshop for Educators will address techniques for bringing Shakespeare to life in the classroom and on the stage. Discover practical strategies to make 17th century text accessible to your 21st century students through theatrical performance techniques.
Join the director and cast of the Interlochen Shakespeare Festival to experience and discuss a variety of topics including Shakespearean Text: Decoding Classical Verse, Working with Shakespearean Monologues and a Master Class with Interlochen Center for the Arts’ Director of Theatre, Dr. David Montee (Directing Technique with Shakespearean Scenes). Participants will observe Interlochen Arts Camp High School Repertory Theatre acting classes and rehearsals for their production of William Shakespeare's romantic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream.
The final evening of the Interlochen Theatre Workshop for Educators will conclude by attending the Interlochen Shakespeare Festival’s performance of Twelfth Night.
