2008 Early Music Workshop
|
| 2008 Early Music Workshop: June 8-13 :: |
The Interlochen Early Music Workshop focuses on early techniques, articulation, ornamentation, improvisation and ensemble arrangement in medieval and renaissance music. The workshop culminates with a participant performance on period instruments. The 2008 Interlochen Early Music Workshop will be a potpourri of "greatest hits" of the Renaissance performed on recorders and other early winds, viols, lutes, harpsichord and percussion.
"My experience attending the Interlochen Early Music Institute exceeded my expectations. I am a long-time student, performer and lover of medieval, renaissance and baroque music. The instructor provided exceptional instruction and direction increasing my skill levels. He tailored the program for each participant in order to assign music in which the participant was comfortable, yet challenged. I was right within a zone of learning which was appropriate for me to progress, yet enjoy my experience."
Kathleen Nordrum, 2007 Interlochen Early Music Institute Participant
