Overview
This course is intended for students who would like to begin incorporating three-dimensional work in their portfolios. The faculty will stress the fundamentals of design and students will explore the elements of art structure and the principles of arrangement as they relate to the creation of three-dimensional objects.
In addition to basics such as line, space, texture, balance and contrast, students will also explore such sculptural topics such as additive and subtractive processes, mold-making, with an emphasis placed on structural integrity. Students will have the opportunity to create and document three to five three-dimensional works over the course of the week, depending on the complexity of the projects and student productivity.
