Overview

The Painting Studio is designed for students with previous painting or drawing experience. Students will work in a variety of painting media with an emphasis on oil paint. In addition, students will learn how to build stretchers and stretch their own canvases. This course is designed to encourage personal expression and in-depth understanding of visual principles through individual interpretation of ideas and direct observation. The program will also feature critiques, visits by guest artists and discussions about art history. Previous experience in painting is recommended.
