Session 1 (June 20 - July 11)
- Two-hour studio course: Metalsmithing will introduce metal materials as a medium of personal expression. Students will explore the properties of metals while learning techniques including cold connections, soldering and casting.
- One-hour studio course: Jewelry Design will introduce a variety of techniques used in the creation of jewelry. Students will explore innovative approaches to traditional forms such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings.

Session 2 (July 12 - August 3)
- Two-hour studio course: Metalsmithing: Advanced will introduce a variety of traditional and innovative techniques such as casting, stamping, enameling, flocking and bead-making. Previous metals experience is required. Participants must take Metalsmithing in session one or have equivalent experience.
- One-hour studio course: Fiber Arts will introduce a variety of techniques for creating fiber-based forms and wearable art. Students will explore soft construction and surface design techniques.

Facilities
In 2009, the visual arts programs will relocate to the new Dow Center for Visual Arts. This exceptional facility includes separate studios for ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing, metals, digital arts, photography, printmaking and fibers. The light-filled complex also features a professional gallery space for exhibitions.
