Session 1 (June 20 - July 11) and Session 2 (July 12 - August 3)
- Two-hour studio course: Drawing Technique will build solid drawing foundations, visualization skills and artistic vocabulary. Students will investigate drawing techniques and a variety of media while developing observational skills and considering how to show form and light in a two-dimensional format. This course is appropriate for students of varying degrees of experience but students should have some drawing experience. There is no portfolio requirement but students will be assessed at the beginning of the program and provided with a curriculum that is appropriate for their level of skill. Students who wish to further develop their skills in drawing may take this course for two threeweek sessions.
- One-hour studio course: Color Study or Figure Study (to be determined by instructor). Color Study is intended for students who have a strong foundation in drawing. Students will investigate how color can be used to communicate mood and emotion in the context of both realistic and innovative approaches to drawing and painting. Figure Study will provide students with an opportunity to work from a live (clothed) model. Students will strengthen their observational drawing skills and learn about the structure and function of human anatomy. Participants should have a strong foundation in drawing.
- Two-hour studio course in a three-dimensional discipline (view list)
