Overview
Composition study at Interlochen is an aspiring composer's opportunity to work with award-winning faculty composers in a goal-intensive program. The curriculum is excellent preparation for those students who are exploring the possibility of becoming a college-level music composition major. The program is limited to ten students, ensuring the maximum in individualized attention.
Students have the opportunity to have their music performed by peers and faculty at regular concerts during the season. The summer culminates with a competitive composition reading of works for orchestra, band and chorus. Students receive recordings of all works performed.
