Overview
Through a competitive audition process, string musicians will be selected for this intensive program designed for the highly skilled and motivated string player. All Advanced String Program students will participate in a final performance at the end of the session.
Program Details
- An organized warm-up is how musicians begin their day followed by a two-hour string orchestra rehearsal.
- Sectionals, music theory and movement exercises are taught on a schedule that rotates daily.
- Private lessons are given to campers once a week. On non-lesson days, musicians will have time to practice.
- Daily chamber music activities give campers the opportunity to participate in string quartets. Participants may also have the opportunity to audit master classes and receive coaching from visiting guest artists.
- Practice hour provides musicians with additional daily practice time.
- Electives are not offered with this program.
