The Theatre Arts Division provides pre-professional training in all aspects of performance, as well as design and production. We feel strongly that students are best served by a solid background in all areas of theatre, and that this will strengthen their position once they decide to focus on a particular area. Possible concentrations within the Theatre Arts Major are Theatre Performance and Theatre Design and Production.
As an Interlochen Theatre Arts Major, you will be exposed to the art from both an actor's and a designer's perspective. You will not only wear the costume, but you will also learn how it is made - by doing it.
When students leave Interlochen, they will have a broad, working knowledge of the entire theatre, and will be prepared for success both at the university level and in professional theatre.
