The 2006-2007 school year marked the opening of Interlochen's new DeRoy Center for Film Studies. This state-of-the-art facility houses the Motion Picture Arts program and student living areas. It is the first and only building of its kind dedicated to film education at the secondary school level.
Centrally located on Interlochen's scenic campus, the 26,000 square foot DeRoy Center fully integrates and supports the aesthetic, creative and experiential study of film. It includes a film studio, editing and production areas, student housing and a movie screening room.
